Delhi: Father and son arrested for cheating in luxury hotels, fleeing without paying their bills | Delhi News

NEW DELHI: Delhi police have arrested a father-son duo who were staying in luxury hotels and running away without paying their bills.
A case of fraud and criminal breach of trust has been registered at IGI Airport Police Station against the arrested persons Navdeep Singh (Son) and Kamaljit Singh (Father), residents of Punjab.
According to Delhi Police, a complaint was received at IGI Airport Police Station at Aloft Hotel, Aerocity, New Delhi alleging that Navdeep Singh checked into the hotel on August 11, 2021 and later, her parents also checked into the same room and they stayed in the hotel until September 6, 2021.
The three family members took advantage of all the hotel facilities during their stay at the Aloft hotel. Their total bills for the stay, meals and other services came to 3.41,054 rupees, but they only paid 60,000 rupees by bank transfer. The family fled the hotel without paying the balance of Rs 2,81,054. Following the complaint, the investigation was taken over by the Delhi police.
On information, Navdeep Singh and his father Kamaljit Singh were arrested at a hotel in Mahipalpur, Delhi on January 19. During further investigation it was revealed that Navdeep Singh is a repeat offender and also involved in another case recorded in Barnala. Punjab police station, where he posed as a Canadian immigration officer and attempted to extort money from a Punjab family.
Delhi Police said that Navdeep Singh and his father used to stay in five star hotels posing as a businessman and availing hotel facilities and after some time they broke up. fled without paying the bills. Furthermore, a fake letter issued by the Ministry of Finance was also recovered from Navdeep Singh, using which he used to incite hotel staff.
Police said Singh also worked as an agent and used to trick people by making false promises to move abroad. He used to stay in five-star hotels to trick innocent customers into showing them his expensive lifestyle.
