Forbes Travel Guide unveiled its 2019 Star Awards on February 20, revealing impressive growth in both proven Favorite Cities and newly added destinations.

Twenty-one new five-star hotels have made classic cities like Manila (The Peninsula Manille), Vancouver (Fairmont Pacific Rim) and Paris (Hôtel de Crillon, a rosewood hotel) shine a little brighter, while places such as Kuala Lumpur (Crockfords at Resorts World Genting), Lisbon (Four Seasons Hotel Ritz Lisbon) and Istanbul (Raffles Istanbul) won their first major honors.

Star projections across the world can also be found at the four star level. The 49 new hotels in the category are spread over the map of Perth‘s COMO The Treasure, Park Hyatt Saigon and São Paulo‘s Palácio Tangará, in Dublin‘s Club K, Montana‘s The complex at Paws Up and The Chedi Muscat of Oman.
