InterGlobe Air Transport enters the hotel reservation space in India – Ultra News
Gurgaon-based travel management company InterGlobe Air Transport said it had entered the hotel booking space in India as part of a tie-up with Spain-based bedsonline.com.
“Through this alliance, we will venture into a new category of hotel reservations, diversifying our business while expanding our consumer travel touchpoints, with services such as air travel, car rental and now hotel reservations,” the company said.
InterGlobe, which already offers airline tickets and car rentals, will use Bedsonline as its main supplier.
Based in Spain, Bedsonline has links with 1.8 lakh hotels worldwide in 185 countries and generally offers its services to institutional sellers of hotel reservations, such as travel agents.
“This agreement represents a great opportunity for our customers in India and we are very pleased to enter into this partnership with InterGlobe Air Transport,” Bedsonline said.
InterGlobe will act as “general sales agent” for bedsonline in India. Indian travel agencies already working with Bedsonline will continue to book all their accommodation, activities, transfers and car rentals through the Spanish company’s website, he added.
Incorporated in 1989 and based in Gurugram, IGAT is an agent for several major international airlines and a global car rental company in India.
