No restrictions on hotel accommodation for foreigners in Russia – federal agency – Société & Culture
MOSCOW, March 7. / TASS /. The Russian Federal Tourism Agency (Rosturizm) has confirmed that there are currently no restrictions on hotel accommodation for foreign citizens in Russia.
“Rosturizm informs all concerned that there are currently no restrictions on the accommodation of foreign citizens in Russian hotels,” the agency said on its website.
The agency said its statement followed requests from hotels, Russian and foreign tour operators, and foreign nationals for explanations of the accommodation rules that foreign citizens must adhere to on Russian territory.
Currently, entry restrictions only apply to citizens of countries that have been placed on a special list of the Coronavirus Infection Prevention Center.
An outbreak of the novel coronavirus-related disease occurred in the Chinese city of Wuhan in late December 2019. The World Health Organization declared it a multiple-focus epidemic and an international emergency. Outside of China, new cases of the coronavirus were most common in South Korea, Iran and Italy. In total, the disease has been identified in more than 80 countries, including Russia.
In China, where the disease is highest, there have been more than 3,000 fatal cases as of March 6. More than 53,500 other patients have recovered. In total, more than 80,500 people have contracted the virus so far.
