Raina left the CSK camp due to her dissatisfaction with hotel accommodation, behaved like a prima donna: N Srinivasan

The problems in the CSK camp do not seem to end for the moment, with reports of an alleged ‘split’ between Suresh Raina and skipper MS Dhoni.

According to Outlook, Raina appeared to have been dissatisfied with her assigned hotel room, citing the lack of proper balconies. Raina, affectionately known as’ Mr. IPL‘because of his sumptuous record in the T20 League, claimed for a similar room identical to that provided by MS Dhoni.

“Cricketers are like prima donnas… like the wayward players of old. The Chennai Super Kings have always been like family and all senior players have learned to coexist, ”said CSK boss N Srinivasan. My thought is if you are reluctant or not happy, go back. I don’t force anyone to do anything… sometimes success comes to mind.

“The season has yet to start and Raina will certainly realize what he is missing and certainly all the money (11 crore per season) he is going to lose.”

Raina struggled to adapt to the bio-bubble; according to reports

The fact that CSK has two players and several staff members who test positive for COVID-19, and the strict protocols of the bio-bubble may have forced Raina to crack under the claustrophobic atmosphere.

The two players infected with COVID-19 are point guard Deepak Chahar and opening batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad. Srinivasan added that Dhoni gave him assurances that both players will recover from the virus soon enough due to their young age.

“I spoke to MS (Dhoni) and he assured me that although the numbers were increasing, there was nothing to worry about. He spoke to the players via a zoom call and asked them to stay safe. You really don’t know who a passive carrier is.

Srinivasan said Raina’s exit could pave the way for young and talented Ruturaj Gaikwad, who has made a big name for himself with tons of races under his belt in national cricket. “He’s an exceptional drummer and he will have a chance now. Ruturaj may be the star of the show, who knows? said the head of CSK.
