The best luxury hotels in Goa to visit for your vacation

Goa and luxury hotels go together like coconut and rum, thanks to the southern region’s long sunny beaches, distinctive cuisine and colonial heritage sites. Unwind with a yoga retreat or immerse yourself in the all-night party scene. Passport ready? To verify. Flip flops? To verify. Now head to some of the best luxury hotels in Goa.

Alila Diwa Goa

Alila Diwa Goa offers breathtaking views of rice paddies and coconut trees, best enjoyed from the tiered infinity pool. Majorda Beach is a 15 minute walk or free fast shuttle. Foodies will love the Goan cooking masterclass led by an Alila chef. Then, let a mixologist whip up the perfect blend of flavors for you at the old-fashioned courtyard bar (hint: the kaffir lime and cardamom infused cocktails are a treat).

ITC Grand Goa, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa

This Indo-Portuguese village-style resort is spread over 18 ha (45 acres) of tropical beach near Arossim Beach. The lagoon-style pool is one of the largest in India and is especially refreshing after a sunrise yoga class. Do you like Goan cuisine? Ask your concierge to arrange a trip to a spice plantation. Tours of Sahakari Spice Farm in Ponda are informative (however, if you’re not up for the adventure, it’s best to skip the elephant rides).

Kenilworth Resort & Spa

Just a 30-minute drive south of Goa International Airport, Kenilworth Resort & Spa sits behind the white sands of Utorda Beach. Cozy rooms feature sloping roofs, rattan furniture, and private balconies, some of which overlook the winding pool and outdoor hot tub. Save time for a morning at Margao Market, where you can browse stalls selling mountains of dried chillies and fresh seafood with glittering bangles.

Taj Resort & Convention Center

The Taj Resort & Convention Center is a modern masterpiece with a cathedral-like lobby and chic sea-facing rooms. There’s a slim rooftop infinity pool with a sunken bar, a cinema 40 seats and an Ayurvedic spa – not bad for a self-proclaimed business hotel. The nearby Vainguinim beach is quite pleasant – take a quick taxi to Caranzalem beach for wider golden sands.

Ahilya by the sea

A small luxury hotel with only 10 unique rooms, you can be assured that you will relax in no time during your vacation at Ahilya By The Sea. With an infinity pool overlooking a secluded part of Dolphin Bay and excellent dining options for vacationers, it is an ideal base for a luxury Goa holiday. There is also a secondary pool facing the ocean which is another gorgeous place to soak up the sun.

The LaLiT Golf & Spa Resort Goa

This resort is in South Goa (Raj Baga, Canacona, to be exact). Boasting its own casino, golf course, helipad and even a yacht, this is one of the largest hotels – certainly in terms of land – in Goa. It has 255 rooms, six restaurants, a children’s corner, tennis courts, two swimming pools, a holistic spa and a five-star rating. The two-story LaLiT Golf & Spa Resort is less than two decades old but was renovated in 2008.

W Goa

The W brand chose Goa as the location for its first property in India (it’s also the brand’s first adult-centric hotel to have a kids’ club). This venue sits on a peaceful hill above Vagator Beach, but while the setting is deeply relaxing, guests can get the funky chain party going. Boxy, angular and modern, the building looks like an architectural art installation, or something out of a Bond movie, while the interior design is inspired by the area’s natural beauty and fishing heritage. A Rock Pool (so named because it is carved into the side of a hill) is the perfect place to relax, as is its Clarins spa. But you can party at Woo Bar, dine at its two restaurants, and play tennis on the on-site court.
